Finally the traditional custom finned timing covers for Triumphs have evolved and returned to market for good.
All the flaws of the 40's-60's versions have been carefully removed while retaining the look and feel that makes theses covers so attractive. They are "perfectly-imperfect" honoring the past and engineering it for the future.
Here is the lowdown on what you can expect from the part:
- All made within 50km of my home, supporting local business
- Sand cast in certified AA-601 Aluminum, sourced from local smelter
- Heat Treated T6.
- Aged Grey finish that wears, just like the early race castings.
- All mounting holes, oil galleries, threads, and gasket faces
- CNC machined to exacting tolerances
- 1/8" NPT oil outlet to allow easy oil pressure switch/gauge installation
- Oil transfer dowel flange, prevents loose dowels starving oil supply.
- Extra thickness around the timing bush for oil seal conversions.
- Extra wall thickness to allow Morgo rotary pump modification.
- Detailed manual covering all aspects of the cover.
- Custom Packaging to ensure the cover arrives safely to you.
- Rubber Oil Seal and Circlip Supplied
- Cover uses stock screws, some crankcases may require a short screw in the top left.
IMPORTANT
When installing this product you MUST measure your crank and ensure you have correct clearance between the timing bush or oil seal.
On any Triumph, your oil pressure is your responsibility.
The covers are sold in raw finish, just like the covers of days gone by, they can be polished by you if you wish and they look amazing when this is done well but please be very careful who you choose to polish them, many will say they can, many will fail, and we will not replace your cover if they do.
These are Sand Cast, then CNC machined. The fit will never ever be perfect, nor will any other custom triumph timing cover, anywhere, ever, period. This is because the crankcases vary wildly from the 40's to the 60's, I know because I've spent 4 years measuring them.
What I can say is the my covers are the best fit you can hope to achieve without filing the cases/cover for a perfect fit.......which, is exactly what all the show bike builder have done for years :-)
