Triumph made the Nacelle versions of most of their Models from 1949-62 and onwards from 1958-1966 for the 350/500cc Unit models. The nacelle top yokes used the H660 U-Bolt as a cheap mounting solution, hidden behind the nacelle.
Over the years many nacelles have been removed and other than the U-Bolt there has been no alternative for mounting the bars. Now, this isn't to say that the U-Bolt is bay any means ugly.....but is it a little agricultural for some!
That is why I decided to make these pairs of "Churro" style stainless steel clamps for the 1" bars. That means these do not work with 15/16" to 7/8" bar....and nor should they. :-)
Fitment
As with many of my parts I try to engineer them to use original triumph parts so that you can use parts off the shelf to fit them.
4 x Triumph 21-1876 / S1876 Inlet manifold Stud
4 x Triumph/BSA 14-1301 1/4"x28TPI (UNF) Cleveloc Nut
4 x Triumph Rockerbox Washer 60-4248 / 70-2728
Only use Vibra-Tite VC-3 Stud locking compound when fitting the stud into the clamp. Vibratite is specifically chosen for its one-part solution for stainless, that avoids galling.
Ensure at least 8mm of thread is engaged.
While the 1/4" UNC studs are a smaller diameter to the original 3/8", they are sufficient of off road use, and centralise with the handlebars forming part of the completed assembly.
Parts may require slight fettling before use, if you are not qualified to work on motorcycles, please employ a professional. Customisation of motorcycles is a complex task and only YOU are responsible for the quality of your machine. Award Cycle takes no responsibility for poor fitment.
